The Program
CitiSchool, our pre-school alternative for two and three year olds runs from September 2007 – June 2008. Our program offers an innovative and dynamic approach to early childhood education. While stressing the importance of arts, our focus is on the development of the whole child. Children primarily learn through play. For children to achieve success in each phase of development (social, emotional, physical and intellectual), they must be given opportunities to be active learners. A sequential, systematic curriculum that includes an array of materials encourages the innately curious child to explore. Discovery and interaction is the work of childhood
The Space
Our bright and colorful classrooms
enhance the experience of our comprehensive curriculum. CitiSchool’s daily lessons
are characterized by consistency, repetition and reinforcement utilizing the six
permanent learning centers: music/movement, art/language arts, construction/blocks,
science, drama and math.
The Teachers
CitiSchool’s teachers gently guide and encourage the children to explore all the activity areas and experiment in their own way. Our teachers are always respectful of each child’s individuality, and they successfully assist all the children, from the most tentative to the most active.
