Our mission is to support and empower moms and moms-to-be by offering one-of-a-kind childbirth classes, prenatal & postpartum support, seminars and social events all under one roof. It truly is a one-stop shop for the high quality instruction and information you deserve as a mother. September Classes
September 1st: A-Z of Childbirth & Parenting 101: Crash Course Intensive
6:30 – 9:30 pm, $350 per couple – CLASS IS FULL: NEXT CLASS WILL BE HELD ON OCTOBER 6TH
MomPrep’s A-Z of Childbirth and Parenting 101 empowers women to make informed choices during labor and beyond so that you are prepared and knowledgeable going into one of the most amazing experiences of your life. This class was designed for busy NYC parents who are short on time, but still want to learn valuable and crucial information before baby arrives. This class will include detailed discussions about: anatomical and physiological changes of pregnancy, signs of labor/when to call the doctor, stages of labor and delivery, fetal heart monitoring, medications used in labor and delivery (Pitocin, Epidural etc), C-sections, Lamaze breathing techniques and what to expect postpartum. Parenting 101 encompasses: newborn care (bathing, umbilical cord care, diapering), SIDS prevention, infection control & sleep habits. You’ll leave this course with the confidence you need when bringing baby home!
September 13th: Prenatal Breastfeeding Class
6:00 – 9:00 pm, $100 per person (bring your husband/partner for $75!)
MomPrep’s breastfeeding preparation workshop will shed much needed light on topics like how to get off to a good start, understanding latch and attachment, the mechanics behind milk production, how to manage breastfeeding in the early weeks and in the long run, how to know if your baby is getting enough, care and pain management of your breasts, and pumping at work and home.
September 15th: Infant CPR & First Aid
6:30 – 8:30 pm, $125 per person (Each additional family member $100. Call for special!)
A must for every parent, grandparent and caregiver! This course will cover Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on newborns, toddlers and children, as well as how to save a choking baby or young child. But where most CPR courses stop there, MomPrep takes it further to teach you how to handle other emergency & non-emergency situations: falls (head/spine injuries), bleeding (scrapes, lacerations, wound care, nose bleeds, signs of internal bleeding) and allergies & seizures. You will also receive great advice on baby proofing your home. Many of our moms take this course annually as a refresher-you can never be too safe! *MomPrep also offers this class in Spanish.
September 22nd: Nanny 101: The Essentials to Finding and Hiring the Right Nanny
6:30 – 8:00 pm, $40 per person
Your nanny is the person that helps raise your child and helps to shape their personality. However, finding a nanny can be an extremely overwhelming and daunting process. MomPrep has teamed up with Gold Parent Coaching to teach you about the dynamics of the “nanny search process.” It will help you to understand: 1. How to assess your family’s needs 2. How to save time while screening candidates 3. What types of questions to ask, and 4. How to enable the nanny to have a smooth transition into your family’s routine. This class helps to define the “nanny job description” and what is involved in the working contract between the family and nanny. At the end of the discussion, ample time for questions and answers will be provided so that all of your childcare questions and concerns can be addressed. As a special bonus, Gold Parent Coaching will give all attendees their exclusive “Child Care Training Booklet” – usually only available to private clients!
September 27th and 29th: 2 Part Baby Dream Gear Series: Registry Essentials
7:00 – 9:00 pm, $95 per person
This 2-part class features products well beyond basics and allows you to test and try everything from car seats to strollers, bottles to carriers, layette essentials to nursery needs and beyond. The class will address common parent concerns such as safety and practicality, and highlight the hottest new products on the market. Each class in the series empowers parents to become the experts and make choices uniquely theirs. From the basics, deep into the heart of the nursery, the Baby Dream Gear Class Series brings years of combined parenting experience and direct manufacturer relations to your finger-tips.
