Citibabes is pleased to announce our first Citibabes-to-Go Summer 2010. For eight weeks, beginning in July and running through the end of August, enjoy your summer in the Hamptons, Westchester, or New York City – Citibabes style! Gather some friends and we will bring the best that Citibabes has to offer to the destination of your choice – your home, a park, or even the beach!

Classes can be customized to meet your needs:

• Choose from any of Citibabes’ signature classes.

• Create a custom class of your (or your child’s) choosing.

• Select one of the following classes listed below*

Once you have selected a class, Citibabes will do the rest! As always, our experienced and advanced degree educated instructors carefully plan curricula featuring age-appropriate activities with a creative twist.

Hamptons Adventure Lab

(ages 3 – 6 years)

1.5 hours

Similar to our CitiCamp program, the Hamptons Adventure Lab will revolve around 4 themes of the summer: sea & reefs, sand & surf, pirates & treasure, and flora & fauna. Each theme will have 2 classes and the final week will be a beach party/ culmination of the 8 themed weeks.

Classes will include the following components:

• Beach exploration: With a magnifying glass and binoculars in hand, children will explore the surrounding areas and in the process, participate in a photo scavenger hunt

• Beach arts: Children will create an under the sea mural, wind socks, coral reef paintings, and decorate a pirate’s chest with jewels

• Free play: Make sand castles, parachute play on the beach, and make seashells imprints on play dough

• Story time: We will read books about sea life, mermaids, pirates, and the beach

• Beach movement and music: Children will play “Goin’ On a Shark Hunt” and sea animal limbo

• Physical games: Including landlocked scuba diving, crab crawl race, and “Fish, Fish, Shark!”

Make Sense!

(ages 2 – 4)

Summer days are perfect for sensory exploration. Sand, surf, water and warm air make the perfect recipe for outdoor fun. This one hour class combines the investigative benefits of “messy play” with the self-expression of freeform art into a weekly experience designed to tickle young learners’ five senses. Separated students are encouraged, but caregivers are welcome to join.

• Touch: Sand sculptures, homemade play dough, bubble games, and shaving cream play let little fingers explore their world.

• Taste: Easy-to-make snack recipes combine measuring skills and science for a yummy treat.

• Smell: Summer is full of scents from barbecue to sea salt air – let’s discover the world through our noses!

• See: Art is a feast for the eyes; from collages to painting with household objects, the only question is: who’s hungry?

• Hear: Let’s make some music and laughter together!

Beach Buddies

(ages 18 months – 3 years)

1 hour

With younger learners in mind, we wanted to offer a chance for socialization and support those first steps toward building autonomy through a fun collection of age-appropriate art and games. Activities including circle time, story, free play, music, and process-centered art projects like contact-paper aqua collages, sea sponge paintings and seashell prints round out this summer-themed class perfect for the littlest beach babes.
